Community Opera Chorus

Join our fantastic opera chorus! Membership is free!

Calling all those who love to sing! As part of our Fieldhouse programming, we will be building a community opera chorus from the ground up! No experience is necessary and there’s no membership fee. We will help you with group breathing and singing exercises, movement and score reading. It’s like choir, but eventually you’ll be in costume and acting as well as singing! If you love to sing and to be part of a group, come join us! Saturdays 11am-12pm at the Oak Park Fieldhouse on Fremlin Street. To register email: with “Community Opera Chorus” in the subject line. We will be working on repertoire from “The Tales of Hoffmann”, “Rigoletto”, “Don Carlo”, “Tosca”, and “Carmen” for concerts and main stage productions in connection with our partners at Emily Carr University, Moberly Arts Centre, and the Marpole-Oakridge Community Centre. Let’s have some fun, let’s sing together! We begin February 23rd, but you may join us anytime that you are ready.

Your membership includes field house workshops, masterclasses, practice recitals, performance opportunities, and repertoire building. Gain valuable stage experience with us! Many of our choristers have also sung roles with us and performed in our opera concerts.

Rehearsals are once a week, year round, Saturdays 11am-12pm.

When required, we also welcome guest chorus members to join us nearer to show dates.
